About Me
- Name: Sunil Pichamuthu
- Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India
Sunil or Suneel is a common Indian male name. It means "very or Good" (su) blue (nil) in Sanskrit. It also means extending all over as the blue sky or 'The Infinite'. The maximum blue is in nature i.e. the sky, the oceans, the rivers etc. The color symbolizes bravery, manliness, determination, ability to deal with difficult situations, and depth of character. It is a mystique color. Are you intrigued or mystified? :-) Meet me in order to get to know me better!

I'm an Old Boy, enjoying your pages and photographs.
The inscription "Dulce et Decorum Est Pro Patria Mori" translates
literally to "sweet [dulce] and fitting [decorum] it is to die [mori]
for one's country [patria]". The line is from one of Horace's Odes,
and it was long used to exhort patriots to war.
The awful trenches of WWI, however, put paid to most notions of
sacrifice and courage. Briton Wilfred Owen, who was to die in that
war, wrote a famous poem by the name "Dulce et Decorum Est" in which
he recorded the reality of these experiences. His poem ends by
calling this phrase "the old lie"; ever since, the power of his poem
has vested the Latin phrase with a cynical meaning. Its modern use is
therefore as likely as not to be sarcastic, with an implicit reference
to a paternalistic and misguided state toying with lives.
